This week in kindergarten, Mrs. Langan's students read the story, "My Mouth is a Volcano," and created their own clay volcanoes! They sculpted, painted, and created a chemical reaction using baking soda and vinegar to make an eruption. The video in the comments highlights their very excited reactions! 🌋

Peck Community Schools is saddened to share the news of the passing of hall of famer Carleen Curry. Carleen has been a staple of Peck Athletics for nearly 35 years. If you planned on attending a Pirate sporting event, you were buying your tickets from her. She was an alum of the Class of ‘70 and she raised her two sons, Chris and Derek in Peck Schools. In 2002 she was named the Friend of Youth by the PCS School Board. Carleen began as the ticket taker during the 1991-92 school year holding the position until this fall. She worked in the school as a part of the foster grandparent program for 11 years beginning in 2011. In 2022, Grandma Curry became a paraeducator for the district-affectionately known to all the elementary students as “Grandma Curry.” Carleen was inducted into the athletic hall of fame as part of the 2025 class. She will be missed by us all. Our thoughts are with Chris, Derek, their families and the many students and adults that Carleen impacted throughout the years.
